Two new species added to British fauna

Two new species of Lonchaeidae have been added recently to the British checklist : they are Lonchaea subneatosa Kovalev and Lonchaea tenuicornis Kovalev.

L.subneatosa was recorded from reared larvae and adults associated with poplars in Hampshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey in England. It is an uncommon species in Europe.  L. tenuicornis is at present only known fronm a single male taken in Berkshire, England, it is a rare European species with only a few known records.
